Rache M. Simmons, M.D., FACS
Rache M. Simmons is the Weiskopf Associate Professor of Surgical Oncology and the Medical Director of Clinical Research at Weill Medical College at Cornell University in New York City. Dr. Simmons is a past president of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBA) and the breast co-chair of the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOSOG). She serves on the Surgical Oncology Advisory Council of the American Board of Surgery and on the National Accreditation of Breast Centers Board. She was the Scientific Program Director for the ASBS Annual Meeting 2000 and was on the Scientific Planning Committee for ASBS 2001 and SSO 2001—2003.
She sits on the editorial boards of The American Journal of Surgery, The Annals of Surgical Oncology, The American Journal of Clinical Oncology, Current Cancer Therapy Reviews, and Breast Diseases Quarterly. She has been involved in multiple research studies investigating minimally invasive therapies for breast cancer including ablative techniques and is the principal investigator of the upcoming ACOSOG Cryoablation Trial for Breast Cancers.
