The 2007 Protein Structure Initiative “Bottlenecks” Workshop
is a 2-day meeting that will include platform and poster presentations addressing the technical barriers to the high-throughput determination of protein structure.

The first day will begin with a keynote presentation by Dr. Shibu Yooseph of the J. Craig Venter Institute, followed by platform talks from representatives of each of the centers that comprise the research network of the Protein Structure Initiative.  These talks will emphasize the methods and technologies which are working or under development.  The oral program for the first day will also include invited presentations from representatives of the Structural Genomics programs in Japan and Europe.  The first day will end with a poster session.

The second day will be devoted entirely to presentations to be promoted to the platform from the poster abstracts submitted by meeting participants. As with the past workshops, we hope to stimulate the freest and most energetic exchange on all practical issues in high-throughput protein structure determination at all levels. While the meeting is organized for PSI participants and invitees, others may attend on a space-available basis. Please forward all inquiries to Dr. Charles G. Edmonds at (301) 594-4428 or edmondsc@nigms.nih.gov.
