Introduction

Please join the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) for the Fifth Annual Ambassador Conference on June 18—20, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri. This year's conference will provide Ambassadors with an opportunity to take an in-depth look at the NHSC programs and opportunities; become familiar with the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of an Ambassador; and offer suggestions for strengthening individual Ambassador programs. Many Ambassadors have never attended a conference, and this will be the perfect opportunity to meet your peers, partner with other Ambassadors, and develop your own action plan. So join us for the 2009 Ambassador Conference!

CONFERENCE GOAL
To train Ambassadors in the four focus areas of Ambassador activity: recruitment and retention, preparation and training, mentoring, and advocating for primary care.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

• Expose Ambassadors to the resources and materials available through the NHSC to augment Ambassador activities on campus or in the community
  
  
• Educate Ambassadors on the nuances and key aspects of the NHSC programs and opportunities through large session presentations and interactive small group breakouts
  
  
• Stimulate strategic planning for specific activities to be implemented on campus or in the community
