GROUND TRANSPORTATION

The Fairmont Washington, D.C. is located in Washington's fashionable West End and is adjacent to historic Georgetown. The hotel is located approximately 20 minutes from Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and approximately 45 to 60 minutes from Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Directions from the Airports to the Fairmont Hotel

From Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI)

• Exit the airport via Route 195 and continue to I-95.


• Take I-95 south to I-495 west (Capital Beltway) toward Silver Spring.


• Take Exit 33 (Connecticut Avenue south) for approximately 6 miles.


• Turn right at M Street.


• Continue almost 8 blocks to 24th Street, NW, and turn right. The hotel will be on the left-hand side of the street.

From Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

• Exit the airport going north. Follow the signs to Memorial Bridge.
• Cross the Memorial Bridge and stay in the left lane.
• Take the first legal left turn onto 23rd Street, NW. There is a left turn lane at 23rd Street, but it is not marked.
• Continue to G Street and turn left.
• Travel 1 block to the stop sign at 24th Street, NW, and turn right.
• Continue on 24th Street.
• Cross M Street, NW.
• The hotel entrance is on the left.

From Dulles International Airport (IAD)

• Take the Dulles Access Road to Route 66.
• Take Route 66 east toward Washington.
• Follow Route 66 over the Roosevelt Bridge. Stay in the left lane of the bridge and take the exit for E Street, which will take you to 20th Street, NW.
• At 20th Street, NW, turn left and continue to M Street, NW.
• Turn left on M Street.
• Continue 4 blocks and turn right on 24th Street, NW.
• The hotel entrance will be on the left.

Ground Transportation
The three (3) airports provide ground transportation to Washington, DC.

One-way per-person taxi fare from DCA is approximately $20. From IAD and BWI, the fare is approximately $45 to $80 per person each way. There is no shuttle service available from the hotel.

Metro Directions

From Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

The Washington, D.C. Metrorail system has an elevated Metrorail station connected to the concourse level of terminals B and C at Reagan Washington National Airport. Metrorail fare cards may be purchased at machines locates at all entrances to the airport Metrorail station. The station is also fully accessible via elevators.

• Take the Blue Line train to the Foggy Bottom Station and walk about 4 blocks (Directions from Foggy Bottom Metro Station is listed below).

From Foggy Bottom Metro Station

• Take the escalators to the street level.
• Make a U-turn and walk away from the escalators.
• Continue to the corner of 24th Street, NW, and turn right.
• Continue north on 24th Street to M Street, NW.
• The Fairmont Washington, D.C. will be on the left-hand corner after crossing M Street.

From the Dupont Circle Metro Station

• Take the Circle South exit.
• Walk south on 19th Street, NW.
• Make a right turn on N Street, NW.
• Continue to 24th Street, NW.
• Turn left on 24th Street, NW.
• The Fairmont Washington, D.C. is on the next corner on the right.

Directions to the Newseum from The Fairmont (Via Metro)

Smithsonian Station

• Take a Blue or Orange Line train to the Smithsonian Metro Station.
• Exit the station and turn left.
• Walk across the Mall toward the Natural History Museum, cross Madison Drive, and continue on 12th Street for approximately 1 block.
• Turn right onto Constitution Avenue and walk approximately 4 blocks.
• Turn left onto 6th Street.
• Walk 1 block to the Newseum, located at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 6th Street.
