Training

CDC will be providing training on the Conference Pre-Day, February 23, 2009. Pre-registration for the training is required.

The following trainings will be available to conference participants.

Rapid Inquiry Facility Training (RIF)
Half-Day Training

The Rapid Inquiry Facility (RIF) has been developed by the Small Area Health Statistics Unit (SAHSU) at the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, Imperial College London, in partnership with the Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention.

The RIF is an automated tool that provides an extension to ESRI® ArcGIS functions and uses both database and GIS technologies. The purpose of this facility is to rapidly address epidemiological and public health questions using routinely collected health and population data.

RIF will be available for download to Environmental Public Health Tracking partners through the Tracking portal.

The intended audience for the training is epidemiologists, and public health practitioners and researchers. The training will include theory and practical hands-on exercises.

Potential RIF training participants are asked to register for this training by sending the information below to Gonza Namulanda at gnamulanda@cdc.gov.

Metadata are a key component of the Tracking Network. Metadata are "data about data" and can be used to explore the diverse range of data available on the Tracking Network. The Metadata Creation Tool was created to assist data contributors in describing their data in a standard format for network users.

Potential Metadata Creation Tool training participants are asked to register for this training by sending the information below to Gonza Namulanda at gnamulanda@cdc.gov.
